Contagion is the latest movie by Steven Soderbergh centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak.

The Artist is a 2011 silent film by Michel Hazanavicius that fully embraces all the constraints of the long-gone era that it pays tribute to, all the way down to the 1.33:1 aspect ratio – a very welcome change from the norm.

I saw this Oscar-nominated 15 minutes short about ten years ago on Atom Films and since then it never let me go. Directed by Steffen Schäffler, it tells the story of a wigmaker in Europe during the plague years. Locked in his shop, he observes the horrible events outside and writes about them in his journal.

This little movie explores the life of Marlowe – a collector, artist and retired teacher and his history with a 40-year old Dodge Charger.

It’s Better In The Wind by photographer Scott G. Toepfer will be a 15 minute short film to be released later this year using a mix of Super 8 and Canon 5D Mark II footage.

When his pregnant fiancee becomes the latest victim of a serial killer, a secret agent blurs the line between good and evil in his pursuit of revenge. By far the most outstanding but indigestible revenge-thriller of recent times.

Martha Marcy May Marlene by director Sean Durkin tells the tale of Martha, a girl haunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia and her struggle to reassimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult. Winner of this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

I have no clue what this movie is about but it is produced by Natalie Portman and she plays in it and there is a Metal soundtrack so who gives a heck.
